Salon International

What a year it was for Salon International!
There were a few obvious omissions from the exhibitors but those that were there didn't disappoint!
One of the biggest successes was the SDL stand which featured SEXY HAIR, EGO professional tools, Tim Hartley and Scuples colour.

Lead by myself, the Sexy Hair UK Art Team joined forces with some of the fantastic Sexy Hair International educators. Producing up to the minute 40's and 50's inspired looks incorporating traditional techniques, high fashion looks and amazing styling.

Our 12 Models had Wearable, Sexy and feminine looks combined with the hottest of
1940's underwear to stop the crowds in their tracks and produce a show stopping image!

Our fantastic stand was dressed with drapes, lights, chairs and sofas from the 50's to add to the very glamourous and sexy ambience the models created a boudoir feel to the whole show, draping themselves over egg chairs and black sofas while applying lipstick and adjusting their stockings.
A little tongue in cheek, fun and elegant twist to an exhibition which can sometimes take itself a little too seriously.

The Sexy Hair UK Art Team produced final looks towards the end of each day for each model but had shown the crowds, the prep for each model from start to finish. Techniques, Products, tools the lot!
Education is paramount at these shows and Sexy Hair and EGO are no exception with their desire to teach and inspire the future stars of our amazing industry.

Stefanie Shields who is a stylist at my salon SMART:EST 73 won the Fellowship Clubstar competition at her first attempt! Her work was superb and she was thrilled to win such a high profile event. Congratulations Stef you deserve it!.xx

I for one had a great time over the entire weekend. The team I worked with are all talented and generous people who like to party just as much as I do!!
Thank you to my Wife Debbie for the gorgeous make up you did for the girls, they looked stunning as usual and thank you very much to all the models especially Tiff, Sasha and Meme who worked tirelessly with me. Love you all loads.xxxx

I am posting a few photos of my models and the entire model team

Is Steven Smart the strongest or weakest link!??

Following a phone call from a production company around
2 months ago, I recorded the Hairdressers special of the WEAKEST LINK!!!

I have just found out that our episode will be shown on BBC 1 at 5:15pm on Wednesday 11th August 2010.

This show I suppose is quite a big deal. It is on one of the channels with the largest viewing audience and is now shown all over ther world.
It didn't take me long to make a decision about appearing on the show, I have always enjoyed watching it and don't take myself that seriously, so having Anne Robinson make fun of me.
My brothers and friends have always been reliable when it comes to keeping my feet on the ground, so she couldn't really say anything to me that I wouldn't find funny!!

Rather than making all the excuses about some shocking answers on my part and all the embarrassing moments, I'll just let you watch and enjoy. It will be well worth it!

Steven Smart at the Fellowship of British Hairdressers show

Time flies when you are having fun!! It is certainly flying by at the moment!
Myself and the salon team have been styling the hair and my wife Debra has been doing the make up for the loads of beautiful brides that we have styling for their special days. A big thank you to all those involved especially the brides themselves. It has been an honour to be there for you.

Last week my salon, SMARTEST 73 was asked to be part of a members night show for the Fellowship of British Hairdressers.

We actually opened the show.........no pressure!
I think, as I would do, that we rocked!

Myself, Debra and stylist Stef were presenting 3 Models and because of my love for sexy women and the 40's/50's era decided that a Pin Up girl theme was in order.
One Blonde, one Dark and one bright Copper.
We had a great time, loved every minute of it and everyone at the Fellowship was great to be around.

Massive thank you goes out to my 3 amazing models, Tiffany Bales, Sasha and Anna Kitson for their hard work, professionalism, good looks and great legs!!
Here's to the next one.

Hope you all like the pictures
Bye for now

Steve
